The MassKara Festival is a week-long festival held annually in the City of Smiles, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental every third weekend of October which coincides with the city’s charter anniversary.

The word "MassKara" is coined by the late artist Ely Santiago, president of the Art Association of Bacolod, from the word "mass" meaning "many", and the Spanish word cara meaning "face"; thus MassKara means, “mass of faces.”

Mask-making contests, disco king and queen competitions, coconut-milk drinking, pig catching and pole climbing competitions, carnivals, food festivals, drum and bugle corps competitions, electronic masskara, trade/agri fairs and exhibits, musical concerts, a MassKara Queen beauty pageant and the MassKara street dance competition are among the matrix of activities during the week-long celebration of the MassKara Festival.
